 New Grads

Where can you match your talent with your ambition? Here.
UCSD Medical Center New Grad programs focus on adult specialty areas:
- Resp/HIV/TB
- Ortho/Neuro/Surgical/Post Trauma
- Transplants/Oncology
- Telemetry
- Labor & Delivery and Infant Special Care
- Critical Care & Intermediate Units
We hire on an as-needed basis year round, and frequent peaks allow for education and didactic coordination. As a result, we always welcome applications from New Grads and experienced RNs eager to change their area of interest. Our ICU Critical Care Program is offered in January, April, July and October. The New Grad Program includes a computerized, Web-based learning program for Surgical ICU, Med/Surg, Labor & Delivery, and Infant Special Care. There is also a unit-based learning component in the specific unit.
Educational opportunities include reduced program fees in continuing education courses offered by UCSD Extension Program. Our Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program offers RNs assistance to repay educational loans. Your UC benefits will pay two-thirds of your education and graduate work undertaken at our sister campuses at UCLA and UCSF Schools of Nursing.
As part of the University of California, UCSD offers one of the most comprehensive benefit packages in the San Diego area. You can choose from a variety of health, dental and vision plan options for eligible employees and family members. Includes three weeks of paid vacation, an average of twelve days of sick leave, and thirteen paid holidays a year for full-time employees.
